Everything you needed to know about getting your product feed(s) to Armchair Marketing or Leebot, made simple for all.
In their most basic form, product data feeds (aka product feeds or shopping feeds) are CSV, TXT or XML files containing product information. Product feeds are required to submit product data to shopping channels.
These are used by product marketing channels like Amazon, Google and Facebook to take in merchants’ product data for the purpose of displaying product listings.
Product feeds enhance nearly every type of advertising that happens when you work with Armchair Marketing or use Leebot.
It makes the magic happen when we receive feeds in a DMS14 format with separate files for dealer details and vehicles.
Not sure how to format a DMS14 feed? We've attached an example to the bottom of this article.
There are two ways to supply your DMS14 car feed(s) to us.
Via URL.
You can supply your data feed URL with one of the supported types: http, https, ftp, sftp (for example "https:/www.mywesbite.com/feed/feedJune20180612.csv"). Note that this is different than the URL for your website.
Via FTP.
Armchair Marketing (or leebot) will provide you with your unique FTP account details allowing you to upload feeds to our systems once they are generated.
Please supply us with your feed production schedule in order that we can ensure we process files as efficiently as possible and can pick up any errors quickly. If you have a quick stock turnover, it is worth considering providing feeds multiple times a day.
Example:
Yes, you can create a manual product feed if your product range, or your services rarely change.
Manual product feeds are great for things like:
You manage product data using a spreadsheet that you update manually on Excel or Google Sheets. Every time a change is made, you re-upload the file in CSV or TXT format to each channel.
A manual product feed is exactly as it sounds - and it's easy to make and upload. A manual product feed is typically used by sellers with very small product ranges (or services) and a lot of time to spare to create and optimise what their descriptions, titles, calls to action and more.
